ACC Eliminated From 2014 National Championship

In all likelihood, the ACC will be knocked out of the football national championship picture in short order after the whistle blows in late August.

Three of the contenders may well be 0-1 before Labor Day.

North Carolina opens at South Carolina on Thursday, August 29 and two days later the Hokies travel to Atlanta for a date with Alabama. Yike!
On that same day, Georgia, who was one play away from beating Alabama in last year’s SEC Championship, will head into Death Valley to take on Clemson.

That leaves Florida State and Miami.

The Canes are likely to be on some type of NCAA probation and Florida State will find a way to lose to some team they simply can’t lose to on paper – Nevada, Idaho, Syracuse, Boston College?

You get the point.

Season over.

Bring on basketball with Syracuse and Pittsburgh (and maybe Notre Dame, see above).

Like that makes sense.
