(Robert Willett/Raleigh News & Observer)

North Carolina’s P.J. Hairston and NC State’s Scott Wood have been named co-ACC Players of the Week, and Maryland’s Seth Allen has been selected the conference’s Rookie of the Week.

Hairston set career scoring highs in consecutive games this past week, scoring 23 at Duke Wednesday and 29 in Saturday’s win over Virginia. The Greensboro, N.C., sophomore also tied his career high with eight rebounds against the Blue Devils and added seven more rebounds against Virginia.

Hairston was 16-of-32 from the floor, including 7-of-19 from 3-point range and 13-of-16 from the free throw line.

In Saturday’s 90-86 win over Virginia Tech in overtime, Wood led the Wolfpack in scoring with 22 points, marking the first time this season that he has led the team in scoring. The Marion, Ind., senior knocked down a season-high six 3-pointers, while establishing a career mark for minutes played with 43 and tying his career-high with three blocked shots.

Allen provided the winning points in Saturday’s 83-81 victory over No. 2 Duke when he broke a tie with a pair of free throws with 2.8 seconds remaining. The Woodbridge, Va., freshman scored all 16 of his points in the second half, and had five of Maryland’s last six points down the stretch. Allen made 7-of-8 free throws in the game while adding two steals, a block and an assist.
