GEORGIA TECH 65, Saint Mary’s California (Gaels, 4,100 students, Moraga, CA) 56 -  Brandon Reed scored 19 points and Georgia Tech made six three-pointers in the second half to beat Saint Mary's (Cal) on Sunday, capturing third place in the DirecTV Classic.

Stephen Holt had a team-high 10 points for Saint Mary's (4-2) in the first-ever meeting between the schools.

Saint Mary's led 26-23 at halftime despite the fact that guard Matthew Dellavedova, who had a career-high 32 points in Thursday's win over Drexel, missed all three of his shots in the half before finishing 1 for 8 with five points.

Kammeon Holsey, who has come off the Georgia Tech bench after starting every game last season, did not make his first field goal until he converted a jumper with 6:28 left for a 46-42 lead. The Yellow Jackets (4-1) broke it open with an 11-2 run. Recap.

CLEMSON 59, Marist (Red Foxes, 4,536 students, Poughkeepsie, NY) 44 - Clemson used a 22-4 run in the second half to pull away from Marist in the fifth place game of the Old Spice Classic at HP Field House. The win improved the Tigers to 4-1 on the season and 2-1 in the event. Marist fell to 2-4 on the season.

Clemson, who improved to 11-0 all-time against teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, were led by senior center Devin Booker, who posted 15 points and 13 rebounds for his first double-double since last March. Adonis Filer added 10 points and eight rebounds, a season-high for the freshman.

The Tigers shot 47 percent for the game, but 57 percent in the second half.  Recap.

Bryant (Bulldogs, 3,614 students, Smithfield, RI) 56, BOSTON COLLEGE 54 - Freshman guard Olivier Hanlan led all players with 19 points, but Boston College (2-3) lost to visiting Bryant (2-2) Sunday afternoon in Conte Forum.

Hanlan went 8-for-17 from the field to match a season high he recorded vs. Auburn. Sophomore forward Ryan Anderson grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds to go with eight points and sophomore center Dennis Clifford established a new career high with 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Joe Rahon scored 11 points for the Eagles.

Neither team got off to a fast start as Bryant held a slight 10-8 lead 10 minutes into the contest. Hanlan tied the score for the first time at 10-10 after making a steal and converting a breakaway layup at the 9:07 mark. Recap.
