Sunday ACC Basketball

#9 DUKE 88, Florida Gulf Coast (Eagles, 12,683 students, Ft. Myers, FL) 67 -  Mason Plumlee scored a career-high 28 points as part of the win that was the Blue Devil’s school-record 96th straight nonconference win at home.

Freshman Rasheed Sulaimon added 19 points and Ryan Kelly had 14 points for the Blue Devils (3-0).

They scored 30 straight points -- including a 23-0 run to close the first half -- to brush off a slow start, and forced 25 turnovers to cruise in this preliminary on-campus matchup in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Bernard Thompson scored a career-high 24 points for Florida Gulf Coast (2-2), which led for most of the first half.  Recap.

Charleston (Cougars, 9,866 students, Charleston, SC) 71, BOSTON COLLEGE 67  - Sophomore Patrick Heckmann led Boston College with 18 points off the bench in a loss in their finale in the Charleston Classic on Sunday in TD Arena.

It was the most points by Heckmann in a game since he had 18 against Bryant on December 11 last season. He was 6-for-9 from the floor on Sunday and 4-for-6 from beyond the arc.

Freshman Joe Rahon had 13 points, seven rebounds and three assists while sophomore Lonnie Jackson recorded 14 points, five boards and three helpers. Sophomore Dennis Clifford notched 11 points and five rebounds. Recap.

Oklahoma State (Cowboys, 23,459 students, Stillwater, OK) 76, #6 N.C. STATE 56 - Le'Bryan Nash has 23 points and Marcus Smart added 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists as Oklahoma State won the title game of the Puerto Rico Tipoff on Sunday.

Phil Forte had 17 points for the Cowboys (4-0), who outrebounded the Wolfpack 45-34.

Rodney Purvis had 16 points and T.J. Warren added 15 points for the Wolfpack (3-1), who shot only 35% from the field while making only 4 of 14 from behind the arc. Recap.
