After a weekend of stumbling and fumbling around, our
Washington Nationals (formerly your Montreal Expos) (96-63) got bombed by the
playoff hunting St. Louis Cardinals (86-73) 10-4. The Nats’ normally reliable starting pitching
has been a bit below par of late.

Yesterday, Ross Detwiler (10-8) blew up early and reliever
Chien-Ming Wan’s first to pitches bounced in front of home plate. Game over.
The Nats maintain a three game lead over Atlanta (93-66) and
they host the Phillies tonight while the Braves travel to Pittsburgh.
