Nat’s Magic Number: 1

After a weekend of stumbling and fumbling around, our Washington Nationals (formerly your Montreal Expos) (96-63) got bombed by the playoff hunting St. Louis Cardinals (86-73) 10-4.  The Nats’ normally reliable starting pitching has been a bit below par of late.

Yesterday, Ross Detwiler (10-8) blew up early and reliever Chien-Ming Wan’s first to pitches bounced in front of home plate.  Game over.

The Nats maintain a three game lead over Atlanta (93-66) and they host the Phillies tonight while the Braves travel to Pittsburgh.
