Nats’ Magic Number: 19

Our Washington Nationals (formerly your Montreal Expos) (84-52)* defeated Mr. Anderson’s Chicago Cubs (again) (51-85) last night to reduce their magic number to 19.  The Nats need 19 more wins to clinch the National League East making one wish the Cubbies would hang around for about two weeks.

Here, Ryan Zimmerman splinters his bat on a pitch from Cubs' pithecer Chris Volstad during the first inning of last night’s Nats’ 9-1 win.

And here starting pitcher Gio throws a pitch against Dave Sappelt.

The two play again tonight and good seats are still available (see Zimmerman photo above).

*Best record in MLB.
