Like last year when former N.C. State QB Russell Wilson took
over, Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema has again handed the keys to his offense to
an ACC transfer.
Former quarterback Danny O'Brien, who was benched by Randy
Edsall last year in the Georgia Tech game, has been named Wisconsin's starting
quarterback.
O’Brien made 17 starts the past two seasons for the Terps and
passed for 4,086 yards with 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He graduated
from Maryland in May and became eligible immediately at Wisconsin.
O'Brien beat out senior Curt Phillips and redshirt freshman
Joel Stave for the starting job.
