The school announced Miller’s promotion Tuesday, two days after the Spartans lost in the semifinals of the Southern Conference tournament.
The 29-year-old Miller—the youngest head coach in Division I—took over for Mike Dement in December and guided UNC Greensboro to a 13-19 finish, an 11-11 conference record and the school’s first SoCon North Division title.
He says the program’s foundation is in place, and he wants “to take UNCG to the next level as a basketball program.”
Miller played three seasons at North Carolina and was part of the 2005 national championship team after transferring from James Madison.
