MARYLAND 16, Georgetown 11 – Senior Joe Cummings set a
career-high with six points to lead the No. 7 Maryland men's lacrosse team to a
16-11 win over Georgetown Friday night at the Multi-Sport Facility. With the
16-11 win, Maryland is now 10-2 all-time vs. Georgetown. Cummings now has eight hat tricks, 22
multi-point and 14 multi-goal games for his career. It was the first
multi-assist game of his career.
NORTH CAROLINA 9, Navy 8 – Fourth-ranked North Carolina
scored four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter, including the game winner
by Thomas Wood with 1:16 to play, as it rallied past Navy 9-8 in men's lacrosse
action before 1,801 fans at Navy Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Saturday
afternoon. The game marked the biggest fourth quarter comeback for UNC in the
sport in 16 years.
VIRGINIA 12, Stony Brook 5 – Colin Briggs scored a
career-high seven points and Steele Stanwick joined the exclusive 100/100 club
as the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers (3-0) topped the visiting Stony Brook Seawolves
(0-2) Saturday afternoon, 12-5, inside Klöckner Stadium.
