MARYLAND 65, Florida International (Golden Panthers, 44,010 students, University Park, FL) 61 -- Terrell Stoglin scored a game-high tying 20 points and Ashton Pankey added 13 to lead Maryland to victory. The Terps (6-3) trailed by as many as nine points early in the second half before taking a 49-48 lead with 9:10 on a pair of Sean Mosley free throws.

After a free throw by Stoglin made it 57-52, Jeremy Allen scored off the glass for the Panthers with 1:18 left. The Terrapins then threw the ball away, but FIU (3-7) couldn't score and Pankey sank two free throws for Maryland to make it 59-54 with 38 seconds to go.

The Panthers, coached by former NBA great and front office disaster Isiah Thomas, never got closer than two points the rest of the way. Mosley added 12 points for the Terps who held a 38-30 edge in rebounding.
