Henson averaged 18.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocked
shots in North Carolina wins over Evansville and Long Beach State. In Tuesday’s
97-48 win over Evansville, Henson had 13 points, 12 boards and three blocks.
Four days later, the Tampa, Fla., junior led the fourth-ranked Tar Heels in
points (24), rebounds (10) and blocks (4) in a 84-78 victory over Long Beach
State. Henson was 17-of-23 (.739) from the floor in the two games.
Rivers averaged a team-high 17.5 points per game in leading
seventh-ranked Duke to wins over Colorado State and Washington. The Winter
Park, Fla., freshman guard was 11-of-22 from the field, including 5-of-10 from
three-point range, and 8-of-10 from the foul line for the week, while also
adding 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
He scored a team-high 17 points
in Duke’s 87-64 win over Colorado State Wednesday. In Saturday’s 86-80 victory
over Washington, Rivers tallied a team-high 18 points to go along with four
rebounds and three assists in 25 minutes of action.
