Thursday Night ACC Basketball: ACC No Longer Unbeaten

St. Joseph’s  (Hawks, 5,350 students, Philadelphia, PA) 66, GEORGIA TECH 53 – Georgia Tech suffered thier first loss of the Brian Gregory-era falling   to Saint Joseph's in the opening round of the Charleston Classic. The Yellow Jackets carried a 28-23 lead into halftime before a sluggish start to the second half allowed the Hawks to seize control of the game.

No. 16 Alabama (Crimson Tide, 31,747 students, Tuscaloosa, AL) 62, MARYLAND 42 –  James Padgett scored 9 points and Ashton Pankey had 10 rebounds for Maryland, and that pretty much tells the story.  The Terps went 13 for 49 from the field (26.5 percent)  and hit just two of their 12 attempts from beyond the arc.
