UNC To Bust Out Camo Unis For Game On Aircraft Carrier

Raise your hand if when you heard that the Tar Heels would be playing the team they vanquished in the 2009 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Championship Game, Michigan State, on an aircraft carrier your first thought was “Cool, now they can finally combine argyle with camouflage!”

No hands.

None.

Didn’t think so.

But alas, the unis the North Carolina basketball team will wear for its Nov. 11 Carrier Classic game against Michigan State will feature a bit of military flair.

MSU'S TOM IZZO?

Michigan State also will wear camouflaged green and white uniforms for the game, which will be played on the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier in San Diego next month on Veterans Day.

According to the university release on the uniforms, no player names will appear on the back of the jerseys. Instead, "U.S.A." will replace players' last names above the uniform number on the back of all the jerseys.
