T.A.H. Preview: FSU A 53.5 Favorite

THE GAME: No. 5 FLORIDA STATE vs. Charleston Southern, 6 p.m. (ESPN3)

SERIES RECORD:  0-0

WHAT'S AT STAKE:  A $400,000 payday for visiting Charleston Southern which visits the nation's fifth-ranked team a week after losing 62-0 at Central Florida. The Buccaneers, who were 3-8 a year ago, are a smaller division FCS (1AA) school that plays in the Big South Conference. Florida State can't prove much in this mismatch coming a week before top-ranked Oklahoma of the Big 12* visits.

KEY MATCHUP: (Really…there’s a key matchup?) The Noles running game vs. Charleston Southern's defense. FSU managed only 92 yards and 3.3 yards per carry in last week's win over Louisiana-Monroe, and Charleston Southern's defense gave up eight rushing TDs in their 62 to zip loss at UCF.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: All of them…just kidding.  FSU: Young receivers Scooter Haggins, Greg Dent, Rashad Greene, Kenny Shaw and Nick O'Leary all had catches in the opener when the Seminoles were without Willie Haulstead, who could be back Saturday after missing the opener with a concussion.

Charleston Southern: Defensive backs Chris Kudzale and Demaris Freeman were busy last week against UCF. Freeman had seven tackles and Kudzale seven to lead the Buccaneer's defense.

FACTS & FIGURES:  The Seminoles are 14-0 against FCS schools. Charleston Southern began playing football in 1991 and is 0-9 against FBS schools.

T.A.H. PICK: Florida State, but will they cover?

*Big 11.
