Things That Make You Go…

Both North Carolina and North Carolina State had experienced running backs suffer injuries in Saturday’s spring games.

According to a news release issued by UNC this morning, senior tailback Ryan Houston fractured his scapula (shoulder blade) Saturday during the Tar Heels' spring football game.  Houston is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday afternoon at UNC Hospitals.

In addition, N.C. State running back Mustafa Greene suffered a foot injury in the Wolfpack's spring practice scrimmage Saturday and will undergo surgery, N.C. State assistant AD for media relations Annabelle Myers confirmed today.

N.C. State's leading rusher as a freshman last season with 597 yards, Greene will miss Saturday's spring game but is not expected to miss any time on the field this fall.

According to N.C. State, a school football coach Tom O’Brien points out is full of "mathematicians and scientists" that can “count,” Green will be out six to eight weeks.  

According to the Raleigh News & Observer and WRAL, both the subject of some recent heat over what appeared to be inflated crowd estimates at the Tar Heel’s spring game, Houston will out of action “one or two” days.
