Johns Hopkins 12, MARYLAND 11 (OT) – Junior Joe Cummings scored four goals for the No. 4 University of Maryland men's lacrosse team, but No. 3 Johns Hopkins scored nine goals in the second half and got the game-winning goal from Kyle Wharton with just 16 seconds left in overtime to pull out a 12-11 victory in front of 8,072 at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium Saturday night.
The Terps (8-3) took a 7-2 lead into halftime, but the Blue Jays (9-2) outscored Maryland 9-2 from the start of the third quarter to 5:43 of the fourth to take an 11-9 lead.
DUKE 13, VIRGINIA 11 – Duke University sophomore goaltender Dan Wigrizer made eight second-half saves and junior midfielder Robert Rotanz netted four second-half goals to lead the 10th-ranked Blue Devils to a 13-11 win over No. 7 Virginia. The win clinches the ACC men's lacrosse regular season title for the Blue Devils, marking the ninth overall for Duke and fifth since 2005 for the program.
