VIRGINIA 11, NORTH CAROLINA 10 (OT) – Steele Stanwick's goal with 46 seconds remaining in overtime lifted the No. 9 Virginia Cavaliers (8-3, 1-1 ACC) over the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels (7-4, 1-2 ACC) on Saturday, 11-10, inside Klöckner Stadium. The triumph halted a two-game Virginia losing streak for the Wahoos.

With the victory, Virginia head coach Dom Starsia now has 324 career wins, needing three more to pass Jack Emmer (326) for the most triumphs while coaching at a NCAA Division I school.

Virginia goalie Adam Ghitelman registered his 45th career win between the pipes, passing UMBC's Jeremy Blevins (2006-09) and tying Cornell's Matt McMonagle (2004-07) for No. 5 all-time in NCAA Division I history.

The Tar Heel players, distraught over the loss, cancelled a team party, then reconsidered and scheduled it to start 15 minutes later to acknowledge the tough loss.

Denver (Pioneers, 11,644 students, Denver, CO) 12, DUKE 9 –  Tenth-ranked Denver outscored Duke 7-4 in the second half to earn a 12-9 victory over the No. 4 Blue Devils in front of a capacity crowd of 6,000 at Bethpage High School in Bethpage, NYU.   Duke junior Robert Rotanz led the Blue Devils with four goals.

Duke falls to 8-4 overall with the loss, while the Pioneers improve to 8-2 on the year.
