Don’t Cry For Me Dukentina: Kyrie Irving Is Really Hurt

It didn’t seem like Duke diaper dandy Kyrie Irving’s toe injury was a big deal and then all of a sudden it was. Yesterday, head coach Mike Krzwyglp5ski said there’s a possibility he could be out for the rest of the year.

Mind you, the Blue Devils will continue to be one of the best teams, if not the best team, in the country without Irving, but the freshman point guard had made a huge impact to date. He is second on the team in scoring at 17.4 points per game, and his ability to push the ball in transition had sparked a faster pace for the defending national champions.

He had a season-high 31 points in a practically flawless performance against Michigan State last week, then had 21 points against Butler and even returned to the game after suffering the injury.

The team hopes to learn more about his status in the next week to 10 days, but Krzyjkkl7wski called Irving’s injury “a serious one.”
