Bo Pelini A Candidate/Not-A-Candidate For Miami Opening

So, if the College Coaching Rule of Opposites applies – you know the one where the A.D. endorses a coach one day, only to s***-can him a day later or when a coach says "Of course,  I’m going to stay at the University of I Love It Here! for the length of my contract and I’m not interested in the job at the University of Better Than Where I Am Now In Terms of Both Money and Talent no matter what the media says" and then takes the new job within 72 hours – Miami is about to gain a new coach and Nebraska is about to lose one…

Bo Pelini, the head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, is or isn’t (depending on who you ask) a prime candidate or the head coaching job at the University of Miami.

According the Orlando Sentinel, Pelini has spoken to University of Miami athletic director Kirby Hocutt about the job but has not been offered it, two people with knowledge of the search told the Sun Sentinel on Thursday.

"He is in the mix," one of the sources said.

Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne denied giving permission to Pelini to speak to UM.

"Bo's never talked to me about anything like that," Osborne told the Lincoln Journal Star. "If he got permission, he didn't get it from me."

Pelini told the Journal Star he didn't seek permission from anyone to speak to another school and added, "I don't address rumor and innuendo."
