Things That Make You Go…

New York Jets outspoken head coach Rex Ryan had some fun with the media this week at the expense of his twin brother Rob Ryan, the defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns. The Jets and Browns play on Sunday.

"There is a rumor going around that there has been a bounty placed on his head," brother Ryan (Rex), said Wednesday. "Let's be honest: There is a bounty."

The interplay between the twins has been a major focus in the pregame buildup. Rob did a conference call Tuesday morning and Rex opened his conference call with the Cleveland media on Wednesday with news of the bounty.

"I'm a little concerned about guys bouncing off his belly," Rex said.

The twins were born five minutes apart on Dec. 13, 1962, and both have the same brash and outspoken personality.

The bounty -- paying a player for taking out an opposing one – is an inside joke about an incident that happened in 1989. “Allegedly,” the pair's equally outspoken father Buddy Ryan offered his Philadelphia Eagles team a bounty for taking out Dallas kicker Luis Zendejas, who had been cut by the Eagles. Zendejas was given a concussion during a Thanksgiving Day game by Eagles linebacker Jessie Small.

Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson went public with the bounty notion -- and claimed there also was one on quarterback Troy Aikman.

When asked what his twin brother worth?

"Not much," Rex Ryan said. "Five bucks."
