NORTH CAROLINA 37, FLORIDA STATE 35 – Are they chanting “Bring back Bobby” yet down in Tallahassee? Florida State’s defense had shown signs of major improvement, but for the second week in a row it was the Noles undoing – that and special teams. T.J. Yates threw for 439 yards and three touchdowns and Casey Barth kicked his third field goal of the game with 55 seconds left to win the game. Florida State's Dustin Hopkins missed two field goal tries in the fourth quarter, including a possible game-winner from 40 yards with seven seconds left - wide right, naturally. He's missed a 42-yard attempt with 7:51 left and the Heels won their first game on Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium in forever.
MIAMI 26, MARYLAND 20 – Miami’s True freshman Stephen Morris threw for 286 yards in his first college start and hit Leonard Hankerson for a 35-yard score with 37 seconds left in the game.
