Pictures of the Day

ROCK OUT WITH YOUR SHUTTLE COCK OUT. Guo Zhendong of China returns a shot with his partner Xu Chen (not in picture - duh? Thanks, AFP, don't know how we would have known that!) against Mohammad Ahsan and Alvent Yulianto Chandra of Indonesia during the men's doubles badminton quarterfinal match at the16th Asian Games in Guangzhou on November 18, 2010. Indonesia won 14-21, 21-19, 21-16. (Photo by Liu Jin/AFP Photo)
ROCK OUT WITH YOUR SEPAKTAKRAW OUT. Masanori Hayashi of Japan completes the ball with Mohd Azman Nasruddin of Malaysia in the Sepaktakraw Men's Team Preliminary Group B Match between Japan and Malaysia during day five of the 16th Asian Games Guangzhou 2010 at Haizhu Sports Centre on November 17, 2010 in Guangzhou, China.

Sepaktakraw (Kick Volleyball) is a cross between football and volleyball, played on a badminton court with a hand-woven ball (takraw). The name comes from the words Sepak, a term used in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia which translates into "kick", and Takraw, a term used in Thailand, which means "woven ball". There will be no extra charge for that additional information. (Photo by Feng Li/Getty Images AsiaPac)
IS THIS IGLOO COOLER SUPPOSED TO SLOW ME DOWN?  ‘Cause it ain’t. Here, Nitro Circus stars Joelene Van Vugt of Canada, Erik Roner of the USA and eight friends perform some extreme skydiving maneuvers with an “esky” (down under speak for “beer cooler” as in Igloo as in Eskimo as in Esky – get it?) to launch their extreme sport “2011 Nitro Circus Live New Zealand Tour” on November 16, 2010 in Matamata , New Zealand.  Some of their homies exited the perfectly good airplane wearing skis, riding a bike, scooters, sitting in a wheel chair, etc. ( Photo by Handout/Getty Images AsiaPac)
