ACC Monday Night Basketball

#1 DUKE 82, Marquette (Golden Eagles, 8,012 students, Milwaukee, WI) 77 – Mason Plumlee scored a career-high 25 points, had 12 rebounds and five blocks to lead No. 1 Duke to victory over Marquette in the semifinals of the CBE Classic on Monday night.

The 6-foot-10 junior dominated inside in a game where the Blue Devils (4-0) took a big early lead then saw Marquette tie it three times before Duke went on a 9-0 run sealed the reigning national champion's 14th consecutive win.

#13 Washington (Huskies, 42,907 students, Seattle, WA) 106, VIRGINIA 63 – Junior guard Isaiah Thomas (seriously, that’s his real name) scored 18 points to lead five Washington players in double figures and the No. 13 Huskies made 17 three-point field goals on their way to an easy victory over Virginia in an opening round game at the Maui Invitational on Monday (Nov. 22).

Freshman guard Joe Harris led the Cavaliers with 19 points. Harris was 8-13 from the field, including 2-4 from three-point range, and he made his only free throw.

CLEMSON 64, Seton Hall (Pirates, 5,245 students, South Orange, NJ) 58 – Tanner Smith made six free throws in the final 23 seconds to help Clemson defeat Seton Hall Monday night in the third-place game of the Paradise Jam. Clemson made 13 of 14 free throws in overtime, getting more attempts in the extra period than Seton Hall had in the game (10 of 12). The Tigers were 26 of 38 overall from the line.

Demontez Stitt scored 15 points and Devin Booker 14 to lead the Tigers (4-1).

BOSTON COLLEGE 69, Holy Cross (Crusaders, 2,817 students, Worcester, MA) 54 – Senior Corey Raji came off the bench to register 15 points and seven rebounds, while freshman Danny Rubin recorded 14 points and six rebounds in his first collegiate start to lead Boston College to a win over Holy Cross. The game between the two Jesuits schools was one of more than 90 games that will be played this season as part of the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight (JBS).

Seniors Joe Trapani and Biko Paris each tallied 11 points, while junior Reggie Jackson finished with nine points and 10 assists.

Winthrop (Eagles, 5,111 students, Rock Hill, SC) 83, WAKE FOREST 74 – Robbie Dreher scored 20 points and Winthrop held off a late Wake Forest rally to beat the Demon Deacons on Monday night in the consolation round of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Gary Clark scored a game-high 23 points for the Deacons (2-3), who trailed by as many as 18 points midway through the second half.
