ACC Basketball Players of the Week

Chris Singleton
Florida State's Chris Singleton has been named the ACC Player of the Week while Wake Forest's Tony McKie was tabbed the ACC Rookie of the Week following their outstanding performances this past week.

Singleton turned in a pair of double-doubles and averaged 22.0 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots as the Seminoles went 2-0. The Dunwoody, Ga., junior opened the week scoring a career-high 30 points to go along with 12 rebounds, three blocked shots, two assists and two steals in a 78-53 win over Gardner-Webb. Three nights later, Singleton totaled 14 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot and one steal in Florida State's 89-66 win at Florida International.

McKie averaged team-highs of 17.7 points and 9.3 rebounds and shot 62.5 percent from the field in three Wake Forest games last week. The Richmond, Va., freshman is the first Wake Forest freshman to score in double digits in his first four games since Rodney Rogers accomplished the feat over his first 11 games in 1990-91. McKie scored 20-or-more points twice, posted his first career double-double and went 20-for-32 (.625) from the field as the Deacons won two of the three games.
