Things That Make You Go...

According to the sports blog MKRob Sports, Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder's Heisman campaign is already underway...

"Christian Ponder is a Heisman candidate in most peoples minds and the Seminoles have already begun its claim for Ponder by releasing their logo for Ponder’s Heisman campaign with the date July 7, 2010.

The announcement – the launch of a Ponder-for-Heisman website? – will likely build some summer enthusiasm for both Ponder and FSU football, which went 7-6 last season in the final year of legendary coach Bobby Bowden’s career.

Ponder threw for 2,717 yards in nine games last season before separating his right (throwing) shoulder in a loss at Clemson in November and missing the final four games of the season. He completed 68.8 percent of his passes in 2009 – the best total for an FSU quarterback since Charlie Ward (69.5) won the Heisman Trophy in 1993.

This is the first Heisman Trophy campaign done by FSU, which has had two Heisman winners: Ward and Chris Weinke (2000)."

Nice, Noles, NICE!
