SHANNON GETS FOUR YEAR EXTENTION AT THE U

After months of negotiating, the University of Miami and football coach Randy Shannon finally have come to an agreement.

Shannon, 44, signed a new four-year contract on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it ends any uncertainty about the program's confidence in Shannon.

"There's no other place I'd rather be than coaching Hurricanes football," Shannon said in a statement. "I'm excited about the momentum we continue to build and our strong recruiting classes."
