Not long ago, Virginia’s baseball and men’s lacrosse teams were number one in the land. Not any more, the lacrosse team was passed this week by Syracuse and the baseball team stumbled a few weeks ago. The basket and helmet guys are still ranked second, while the horsehide squad has dropped to fourth in the USA Today/Coaches poll passed by conference foe Georgia Tech at #3.

Florida State is #9 and Miami comes in at #14. Clemson rounds out ACC baseball in the poll at #20. Virginia Tech dropped out of the poll last week.

The Wahoo lacrosse team can get its groove back this weekend in the ACC tournament held at Maryland. The semis (there are only four ACC lacrosse teams) on Friday have Virginia taking on Duke, while host Maryland plays UNC. The finals are Sunday and can be seen on RSN. Check your local listings.
