Why is it so hard?

It’s only 60’6” and the projected orb is the size of an orange.

How come so many politicians, celebrities and sports figures have so much trouble accurately tossing the horsehide to home plate in those ever popular ceremonial (in what language does “ceremonial” mean “crappy?”) first pitches?

Add to the list ever-growing list for Ball One, Jon Scheyer, Brian Zoubek and Lance Thomas.

Two out of the three can toss a basketball 25’ into a rim not much bigger than the ball, but throw a baseball to home plate? Well…no.

The three seniors on Duke's 2010 NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball National Championship basketball team threw ceremonial first pitches Thursday night before the Durham Bulls' home opener.

Scheyer (making a crazy face?)threw low and slow. Zoubek's pitch was high and wild, and Lance Thomas bounced the ball to the plate…

Fun was had, but the Bulls lost.
