NO. 22 MARYLAND 79, NO. 4 DUKE 72 - Greivis "The Venezuelan Cyclone" Vasquez saved his best for last. Vasquez scored 20 points, including a clutch basket with 37 seconds left, and No. 22 Maryland beat fourth-ranked Duke 79-72 Wednesday night to move into a tie with the Blue Devils atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings.

It was the final home game for Vasquez, who was honored with seniors Landon Milbourne and Eric Hayes before the game.
Afterward, all three were mobbed with their teammates as fans rushed the court to celebrate Maryland's first win over Duke in seven tries.

The Terps ran off to an early lead, but were temporarily befuddled by when Coach K tossed a zone defense at them. But Vasquez & Co. found a new rhythm in the second half and wound up shooting 50% from the field and winning the rebound battle 36-35.

Remember just a few years back, when some Maryland fans and alums were calling for Coach Right Guard's head? Now, the Terps are back on the top of the heap. What were they thinking?

Coach Williams declared himself both happy and proud.

Nice, Terps, NICE!
