By Heather Dinich/ESPN.

*The Gator Bowl -- as in the actual game -- has become secondary to the celebration surrounding Bobby Bowden.

*For Georgia Tech defensive back Mario Edwards, leaving Virginia Tech has been a blessing for his entire family.

*With Monte Kiffin and Bud Foster on the same field tonight, points could be hard to come by.

*Former Clemson coach Tommy Bowden will miss his father's final game, and with good reason -- he'll be coaching a bowl game in Baghdad to entertain our troops.

*Miami running back Graig Cooper could miss the entire 2010 season with a torn ACL, but he's still considering the NFL and has turned to Willis McGahee for advice.

*The odds are stacked against the Hokies tonight everywhere but in Vegas.

*The ACC hasn't done much to earn national respect so far in the bowl season.
