LAST VIRGINIA SCHOOL ELIMINATED FROM D1AA PLAYOFFS

All together now in your best Jim Mora voice: PLAYOFFS!?!

Look, we aren’t even gonna whine about the BCS system this year. We advocate a 16 team playoff utilizing 8 of the existing bowl games and all the same bowl games for the teams not in the top 16. Easy as that.

Which brings us to the last night when Villanova rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit, getting some help from a call that was overturned by instant replay to beat William & Mary 14-13 and advance to the title game of the Football Championship Subdivision next Friday night.

The second-ranked Wildcats will play the winner of Saturday’s semifinal between Appalachian State and No. 1 Montana in Chattanooga, Tenn.
