NO. 21 GEORGIA TECH 70, George Mason 62

A friendly rivalry between teammates Gani Lawal and Derrick Favors means trouble for opponents of No. 21 Georgia Tech.

The two big men each scored 18 points and added three blocks apiece Friday to lead the Yellow Jackets (2-1) to a victory over George Mason on Friday in the consolation round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Favors scored six of his points in a 13-0 run, capped by one of his dunks, that gave the Yellow Jackets a 43-23 lead with 15 minutes to play. The Patriots (2-2) got no closer than six points the rest of the way..

NO. 25 MARYLAND 82, New Hampshire 55

A convincing win over New Hampshire put No. 25 Maryland in the proper frame of mind for a business trip to Hawaii.

Landon Milbourne scored a career-high 24 points, and the Terrapins cruised to an 82-55 victory Friday night in their final tuneup for the Maui Invitational.

Sophomore guard Sean Mosley had 13 points and a personal-best 10 assists for his first career double-double, and Eric Hayes scored 15 for Maryland (3-0). After three straight blowouts at home, the Terrapins head to Hawaii to play three games in three days, beginning Tuesday.

MIAMI 67, UNC Wilmington 60

Malcolm Grant scored 18 points to lead Miami over UNC Wilmington, 67-60, as the Hurricanes advance to Sunday's Charleston Classic title game.

The Hurricanes (4-0) led 62-58 with 29 seconds to play and forced two Seahawks' turnovers to hold on and advance to the championship round of the Charleston Classic at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Trailing by 12 with 6:09 to play in the first half, Miami went on a 19-4 run and built a 27-26 lead at halftime.

NO. 22 CLEMSON 89, UNC Greensboro 67

Trevor Booker scored a season-high 17 points, and No. 22 Clemson routed North Carolina-Greensboro 89-67 on Friday night.

Milton Jennings added 14 points for the Tigers (3-0), Andre Young had 13 and David Potter finished with 11.
They shot 54.5 percent, broke it open by closing the first half with a huge run and extended their school-record winning streak in non-conference road games to 11.

N.C. STATE 66, Akron 45
NC State used a hot-shooting first half, and downed Akron in the Pack's first game of the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona Beach Friday afternoon.

NC State (2-0) matched the hot temperature in Daytona, starting the game on a 17-4 run over the first 6:34 of the contest. The Pack's lead would reach as much as 24 points at the 4:12 mark, and NC State would go into the half with a 43-21 lead making 68.0 percent (17-25) of its first half shots.

NC State made nine of its first 12 shots of the game, and on its 17 made field goals in the first half, the Pack had 12 assists.
