USA Today has revealed what college coaches earn and guess what? They’re well paid!
Urban Myer at Florida makes $4 million while Doug Martin at Kent State makes $190,000.
Here are the current ACC salaries, according to USA Today:
Bobby Bowden: $2,319,375 (base $565,875) - record: 4-5
Paul Johnson: $2,300,000 (base $325,000) - record: 9-1
Jim Grobe: $2,172,127 (base $333,333) - record: 4-6
Frank Beamer: $2,138,000 (base $272,328) - record: 6-3
Al Groh: $2,072,339 (base $291,700) - record: 3-6
Ralph Friedgen: $1,877,095 (base $267,468) - record: 2-7
Butch Davis: $1,702,000 (base $1,702,000) - record: 6-3
Tom O'Brien: $1,200,000 (base $625,000) - record: 4-5
Dabo Swinney: $816,850 (base $250,000) - record: 6-3
The salaries of coaches for private universities is not available to the public.

If they sell seats, pay them accordingly. That's how the rest of the world works outside of government/academia. It's not like college sports has anything to do with education. Here's an article on why giving UVa's Dave Leitao $2.1 million to quit was a good business move:
