Awards?Really?
Yes, and for starters there should be much more Heisman buzz about Clemson's C.J. Spiller. Spiller is not only a legit Heisman candidate who is racking up all-purpose yards like it's going out of style, he is also the team's MVP. When Spiller touches the ball frequently, the Tigers win.
While bringing back a moribund program to the precipice of a championship, Spiller is the only player in the nation with two 300-yard all-purpose running games this year while accounting for a touchdown five different ways this season. All that kid does at Alabama is run over people.
If the Clemson defeats the Hoos on Saturday and earns a spot in the Dr. Pepper bowl, maybe the Heisman voters will start to pay attention.
Time is running out. Here’s a breakdown of ACC footballers and coaches in the running for other year-end honors.
