LATE GAMES

N.C. STATE 65, Murray State 7 – Russell Wilson threw four touchdown passes to help North Carolina State's offense bounce back from a miserable showing in its opener and beat Murray State 65-7 on Saturday night.

#16 TCU 30, VIRGINIA, 14 – The last thing Virginia (0-2) needed after a sputtering, turnover-filled season-opening loss was to be tested by the defense that led the nation in fewest yards allowed last season.

No. 16 TCU picked up where it left off last year, stifling the Cavaliers' new spread offense and cruising to a 30-14 victory that was more convincing than the score indicates. The Hoos racked up a total of 7 first downs and 177 yards.

FLORIDA STATE 19, Jacksonville State 9 – Yikes! It’s not enough the NCAA is messing with Seminole Nation, now Jacksonville State is scaring the bejeezus out of ‘em.

The Noles (1-1) needed two scores in the final 35 seconds Saturday night to avoid arguably one of the most embarrassing upsets in school history.

Ty Jones’ 1-yard touchdown run with 35 seconds left put the Seminoles ahead of lower-division Jacksonville (Ala.) State and teammate Kevin McNeil returned a fumble for a score 21 seconds later to seal the 19-9 victory.

The visiting Gamecocks (0-2) took advantage of three Florida State turnovers to keep control of the contest until the final minute.

Florida State (1-1) hasn't lost to a school in the Football Championship Subdivision (DI-AA) since a 9-0 defeat to William & Mary in 1969.
