Hey, it is what it is. Can the Colonial Athletic Conference be better than the ACC?

Of course not, but you can't prove it after week 1.

The ACC went down hard again in a first week that saw them lose to every BCS team they played and to two FCS (Division 1AA) teams. Now before we go all crazy on Duke and Virginia, they did lose to two good FCS teams - both from the Colonial Athletic Conference which boasts 8 of it's 16 teams in the preseason FCS top twenty.

Richmond's victory over Duke seems improbable in spite of the Spider's National Championship last year and their #2 ranking in the pre-season FCS poll. The Spiders vaulted over the Blue Devils and into the #1 spot in this week's poll. FCS pre-season #1 App State lost to East Carolina on Saturday. William & Mary (now #7) was also ranked, but they surely can't be good enough to beat the Wahoos without SEVEN turnovers. Can they?

This week, JMU (0-0) #6 in the FCS poll has to travel to College Park to face an unhappy Terp team who got trounced by the Golden Bears in their opener.
