WHOS SAYS WE SUCK AT FOOTBALL?'s Heather Dinich points out some relevant ACC firsts:

For the first time in ACC history...

The league has 10 bowl-eligible teams. No conference has ever placed 10 teams in bowl games. It's only the third time in college football history that a conference has had that many teams bowl eligible.

The ACC had eight teams with seven or more wins during the regular season. The conference has had eight teams with seven or more wins before, but only after postseason games were included.

The ACC had its best nonconference record. The league finished 37-11 against nonconference opponents, a .771 winning percentage. That's the best in ACC history for winning percentage and total victories.

The ACC was 15-8 against BCS opponents and Notre Dame.
