THREE INJURED HOKIES OUT OF ORANGE BOWL

Linebacker Brett Warren (#33) and defensive end Jason Worilds will not play in Thursday's Orange Bowl, trainer Mike Goforth confirmed Sunday.

Junior Nekos Brown (Thomas Stone) will fill in for Worilds, a sophomore. Redshirt freshman Barquell Rivers replaces Warren, a senior whose Virginia Tech career is now finished.

The Hokies will also miss starting guard Nick Marshman, a senior who was declared academically ineligible last week.

Warren partially tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in a Nov. 13 loss to Miami and possibly worsened the knee during the ACC title game.

Worilds has suffered from multiple dislocations of his left shoulder throughout the season, but the injury became more serious after the Miami game. Worilds wanted to play in the Orange Bowl, although the medical staff decided to no longer give him the option.
