It’s only 17 days until Christmas, and the Pope is pissed at UNC.

The Tar Heel’s victory in the Women’s Soccer College Cup 2-1 yesterday completed the Carolina Trifecta over the Pontiff's boys and girls from Notre Dame. Before the Lady Heels notched their 19th National Championship, the football team and men’s basketball team had already dispatched of the Irish rather easily.
The football team defeated the Golden Domers back on October 11, 29-24 at Keenan Staduim, and the No. 1 North Carolina basketball team pummeled the Irish 102-87 in the Maui invitational.
This go 'round, junior forward Casey Nogueira (No. 54) pounded home a pair of goals in the second half Sunday afternoon as the No. 4 Heels rallied past top-ranked Notre Dame 2-1 in the championship game of the 2008 NCAA Women's College Cup.

Carolina had to weather an Irish goal in the first 16 seconds of the match to earn its 100th victory in the 27-year history of the NCAA Tournament and in the process garnered thier 19th women's soccer title.
Talk about a dynasty—19 championships in 27 tournaments is 70.3 percent.
