HAPPY HOLIDAYS. No wonder the Wizards are one of the NBA have-nots. Bad Karma. Today, Eddie Jordan was fired as coach of the Washington Wizards after opening the season 1-10 without injured starters Gilbert Arenas and Brendan Haywood.

So where was now ex-coach Jordan when all of this was going down? Out on G Street in front of the Verizon Center helping collect can food for the homeless as part of the Wizard’s Turkey Drive. The local NBC TV channel was interviewing Jordan at about the same time some front office genius was leaking the firing to the Washington Post.

According to the Wiz’s web page: This was the second Turkey Drive for Jordan who plans on keeping with the holiday spirit through the next week and even on Thanksgiving.

"Tomorrow we will be collecting cans for the homeless" said Jordan. "Then we will be serving dinner at the Chophouse on Thanksgiving. It is great because in my house we won’t be able to eat a traditional dinner, but to be able to serve a dinner to others will be awesome."

Well, Eddie, now you have a little more time for doing good deeds, no thanks to the ever-so-sensitive Wizard’s management.

Nice, Wiz, NICE!
