GEORGIA TECH SAVES A LITTLE ACC FACE

The Jacket hadn’t beaten in-state rival and SEC power No. 13 Georgia since 2000. At halftime, they found themselves between the hedges and down 16 points. All the questions about whether or not rookie coach Paul Johnson’s smart option offense working up her in D1 surely must have been swirling around in some Atlanta heads.

And then the third quarter started and Georgia Tech (9-3) out rushed the Dawgs (9-3) 201 yards to one. That’s not a misprint 201 to 1. Game over.

It seems impossible that a college team that completes one pass for 19 yards can beat a ranked opponent, but 409 yards on 56 rushing attempts evidently will do the trick.
