MARYLAND 17, 16 NORTH CAROLINA 15 – Quarterbacks are important, and QB play was the difference for teams trying to control their own destinies. NC QB Cam Sexton’s performance was spotty at best while Maryland’s Chris Turner was good when it counted. Don’t be shocked if Butch Davis puts injured and now-healed T.J. Yates back in the lineup. No pot of gold for the Tar Heels.

N.C. STATE 31, 24 WAKE FOREST 17 - Wake’s consistently inconsistent Riley Skinner was inconsistent, while the Wolfpack’s freshman QB Russell Wilson tossed 3 TD’s.

CLEMSON 31, DUKE 7 – Duke reverted to Duke and Clemson reverted to Clemson. That made it easier for Cullen Harper to go 20 for 26 for 292 yards and touchdown. Duke’s Zack Asack was 10 for 22 for 61 yards, a touchdown and two picks.

BOSTON COLLEGE 71, 19 FLORIDA STATE 17 – Christian Ponder was great until one back-breaking, and needless, interception just when it looked like the Noles were about to tie the game in the second half. Eagle QB Chris Crane woke up yesterday morning and thought he was Tim Tebow. Then he went out and played like it.
