For the second straight season, North Carolina is the unanimous No.1 selection in the ACC's preseason basketball poll.

The Tar Heels received all 40 first-place votes yesterday in the annual poll of media members who cover the conference.

Duke was second in the poll, followed by Wake Forest, Miami, Clemson and Virginia Tech. Here is the complete poll, with voting totals in parentheses:

North Carolina senior center Tyler Hansbrough, who was the consensus national player of the year last season, was the unanimous selection as preseason player of the year.

Boston College guard Tyrese Rice (r) joined Hansbrough as a unanimous preseason All-ACC selection. Miami guard Jack McClinton, North Carolina guard Ty Lawson and Duke wing Gerald Henderson also were All-ACC selections.

Wake Forest freshman forward Al-Farouq Aminu was voted the preseason rookie of the year. He received 18 votes — 14 more than his nearest competitor, Virginia's Sylven Landesberg.
