THE TALE OF TWO BOX SCORES

Last time Danny Green and Wayne Ellington scored 11 points. This time they scored 34.

Last time the Tar Heels had 4 blocked shots. This time they had 15. (Kudos again to Danny Green who had 7 of those.) They blocked nearly 0ne-third of Duke's 47 shots.

Last time Q looked nervous and sometimes addled. This time he nailed a critical three pointer.

Last time Ty Lawson sat on the bench hurt. This time he played 23 minutes, scoring 10 points with three assists.

Last time the Heels didn’t ball switch off every single pick. This time, on two days practice they did it perfectly, limiting Duke’s three point attempts.

Last time Duke made 13 three pointers from 29 attempts. This time they made but five from only 11 attempts.

Last time Duke shot 45.5% from the field. This time Carolina’s defense held them to 32.9%.

Last time, the Devils scored 18 points in the last 5:47 of the game. This time a stingy UNC defense held them to zero.

All season long Roy Williams has been saying that champions play great defense. This time the ACC regular season champion Tar Heels were listening.
