TIME OUT, TIME OUT

Dear Mr. Snyder:

Ice yourself.

Call two timeouts.

Take a breath…

There are rumors swirling about that Dan Snyder could make Bill Cowher the NFL's first $10 million coach.

Former Pittsburgh Steeler coach Bill Cowher said he wants to take one more year off from coaching. But when it comes to owner Daniel Snyder and the Washington Redskins, Steve Spurrier would never coach in the NFL and Joe Gibbs was happy running his NASCAR team. Both ended up with the Redskins.

The Washington Post reports Snyder could well make Cowher the league's first $10 million coach. Cowher would want full power, control over personnel and the ability to bring in his guys. Can you image any owner more accommodating than Snyder?

Cowher lives in North Carolina so he would not be so far from home. In a recent interview, Cowher said “I’m taking it one year at a time.”

Translation: “Show me the money!”
