UNC Charlotte (49ers, 16,584 students, Charlotte, NC) 82, #18 CLEMSON 72

It’s happening again – the all too traditional Clemson regular season swoon. Hey Clemson: a) Carolina stole the opener from you, so what? It’s a long season, shake it off, and b) UNC Charlotte isn’t in the ACC so it’s OK to beat them.

Leemire Goldwire scored 21 points to lead Charlotte to its first win over a ranked team in nearly three years. Charlotte (9-5) lost all of a 12-point lead in the second half, but outscored the Tigers 13-3 over the final 4:23.

Clemson shot 69% from the free throw line, an improvement over they usual 50% or lower. However, they shot only 38% from the field while making only 4 of 20 three pointers.
