It’s not that we don’t care about the polls, it’s just that we don’t really care about the polls in December. It means it bit more later in the season when folks start sweating what seed they get in which region in La Danza Grande. Right now, it’s just a nice Christmas gift…

Having said that, the 2005 NCAA Men's Basketball National Champions, the University of North Carolina Tar Heels top a list of eight unbeatens among the top nine in this week's ESPN/USA Today men's college basketball poll. The Tar Heels, 8-0, received 25 of 31 first-place votes in the latest poll of 31 coaches. North Carolina has 763 points, 23 more than second-place Memphis (7-0), which picked up four first-place votes.
No. 3 Kansas (9-0) and No. 4 Georgetown (7-0) picked up the remaining two first-place votes. Texas (9-0) is ranked fifth.

Other unbeatens are No. 6 Washington State (9-0), No. 7 DUKE (9-0), No. 9 Pittsburgh (9-0), No. 15 CLEMSON (8-0), No. 21 Vanderbilt (9-0) and No. 24 Saint Mary's (7-0).
St. Mary’s?
