Tyrese Rice scored 19 points to lead Boston College to a 81-78 win over Maryland on Sunday. Rice's final two points came on a pair of free throws with four seconds to play that clinched the win for the Eagles (7-1, 1-0 ACC). John Oates also hit a free throw with one second left for the final margin.

Gervis Vasquez committed a dumb foul (#4) and a technical (#5) with 10:30 left in a tied game. The Terps (6-4, 0-1 ACC), who are inconsistent offensively as it is, never recovered. They made five straight late threes to close the gap.
