COUCH BURNING IN ANN ARBOR?

West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez (60-21 as the Mountaineer coach) met with Michigan athletic director Bill Martin on Friday to talk about the Wolverines' coaching job, according to media reports. (TAH doesn't have any sources in WV. During the last storm, the string broke.)

Rodriguez and his agent were in Toledo to talk with Martin and university president Mary Sue Coleman, according to Sporting News Radio, which cited unidentified sources.

Rich Rodriguez takes into the Jan. 2 Fiesta Bowl, including a 2-3 tally in bowl competition.

The meeting was confirmed to ESPN's Joe Schad on Friday afternoon by a source close to the situation.

Rodriguez, 44, was back in Morgantown on Friday after taking a flight from Ohio, and unwilling to talk about any possible interest in the Michigan job.

What next? Rodriquez will host a press conference saying “I am the coach of West Virginia.” Immediately following their January 2nd bowl game, he will hold another press conference announcing he’s going to Michigan…if he waits that long.
