HOOS SCORE 48, WORLD TO END SOON

VIRGINIA 48, MIAMI (Ohio) 0
The University of Virginia football team stepped out of conference to rout Miami University. The #23 Hoos were simply no match for the out-gunned Red Hawks. Miami University (18,863 students, Oxford, Hamilton and Middletown, OH) is 5-5 when it stays at home in the Mid-American Conference.

Supporters of UVa’s biggest rivals, Virginia Tech, were noticeably angry that the Wahoos were “playing down,” and out of conference this late in the season…

Wait…THIS JUST IN…

It wasn’t Miami University? It was actually the University of Miami? And UVA blew ‘em out? You’re serious…?

Well, now…

Evidently, they’re were dozens of former star Miami Hurricane players in attendance for the Orange Bowl's farewell, including some wearing national championship and Super Bowl rings. Too bad for the Canes that they weren't wearing uniforms.

No. 23 Virginia ended Miami's 70-year stay at the famed stadium in stunningly one-sided fashion Saturday night -- dealing the Hurricanes the biggest shutout loss in Orange Bowl history.

Mikell Simpson had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs and quarterback Jameel Sewell scored twice, as the Cavaliers simply overpowered the Canes on their way to a 48-0 victory.
